The (From now on) band, presented his first live set at Mercurio record shop

in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It's members analyze their present, their future projects and the concert. 06/08/19.

How's the project today? There were formation changes, new projects, the album ...

Fabio: It seems to me that it is something that we were taking little by little with Tomás and then with Lautaro we started moving faster to a new direction, it seems to me that it will be a nice trip through different genres but always with the axis in shoegazing, dreampop and that Novenous sound that we look for so much in our songs, and I think we will find it, it will be good to see how it will be received.

Tom: I think it's going to be a record that people's gonna talk about. It is a sound and sensitive journey that gradually started to took place, mixing our creativity and influences, with the core axis in the British music of the 90s.

How was the transition with the new member, and where did the idea come from?

Fabio: I contacted Lautaro on Twitter. It's weird how social media today can be use as classified ads. We needed a bass player to play live and we just not only found that, but also an excellent musician with an enormous energy that infected us all, It is very nice to have him in the band.

Lautaro: In my arrival I found a very well-made group of songs, some of them with a powerful sound and others with the melancholy of dream pop. It was easy to adapt to the format they proposed because the influences we have are similar. The new bass lines were inspired by bands like Lush, Joy Division and Slowdive.

How is the process of making an album?

Fabio: It's basically gonna be an improvised-from song record, that started from a melody or sampling that we've been doing. Nothing was made or finished before being recorded, except for songs like "Ahogado (Drowned)" that are prior even to Avantgaze. The fact of making a record in a home studio, without time limit, gave us peace of mind and enormous comfort, and I think they will be reflected in the final result.

You had also announced the release of a documentary. What would it show, how is that going?

Tom: The documentary will be really good. It's going to be a pretty wide and first-handed look at the recording of the album, how's the everyday Avantgaze, the band's evolution ... a true document of how we do and how we analyze the Argentine shoegaze scene.

Fabio: The documentary started being more like a mockumentary, but now we consider it a serious one. It also has it's hint of humor, It will have many beautiful things and several "behind the scenes" of how the album was thought-out and recorded, I have no doubt that it will be a nice accompaniment for the album.

You are starting to schedule your first live experiences with the band, starting with Mercurio show. How's that going?

Fabio: We are preparing the show in Mercurio, that's a beautiful place, one of the few standards of the emergent music scene, where you can not only buy records, but spend a pleasant time listening to new bands and music. It will be a challenge to move our most electric songs to an acoustic format but I don't see it as something impossible. Then we have a festival gig in Barrio Saldías, which is going to be an electric-set there and hopefully we will be able to share part of the incoming album.

Tom: I've been coming to Mercurio for years as a music lover and collector of the greatest albums. It always seemed like a place with an important, different energy to me. I went to presentations, festivals, concerts and DJ sets there, and it always seems important to set to play in places that you enjoy as a goal. I admire that place, it is a real treasure cave of the Argentine emergent scene. There you can find the new, old, avant-garde, alternative and consecrated albums. Giving a concert there will be a dream come true, and even more playing two sets.
